September 14: Last Day of our Camino and Aunt Rita's birthday

Last Day of our Camino

We started off our day walking out of Sigueiro after a very restful sleep at Albergue Miras.

It was lovely walking without packs again today (and when we come back to walk the Portuguese Way, I will spend the 5 Euro  daily to transfer my pack)

This is a pilgrim scarecrow.

The people we have met have been fabulous, both pilgrims and residents. According to some of the other pilgrims, the English Way, though short, is the most intense for climbing.

Dave, Framp, cardboard cutout of a pilgrim, and Feredrico.
Same again but with Francisco, too.

We have not yet received our compostela because the que is so long.

The numbers are your place in the que.... You scan your qr code so you know how close you are to getting to the Office of the Pilgrims.

"The compostela is a certificate of completion of the Camino de Santiago, and is issued to you by the Pilgrim's Office in Santiago de Compostela. There are two types of certificate: one is in Latin, and is issued to pilgrims who declare that they did the camino for religious or spiritual purposes.Getting Your Compostela" - The Road to Santiago

Dave and I have had lunch, are checked in to our beautiful hotel, Via AetcaL Hotel. Dave has been to the laundromat and is back. We are now waiting for our massages and are still more than 200 pilgrims ahead of us.
